We currently have a probe in the lab for poor imaging. On initial inspection all seemed fairly normal but with a slight separation of the seams of the probe.
After removing the covers look at the amount of ultrasound gel and other fluid that has been forced inside the probe.
This amount of fluid inside the probe for such a long period of time resulted in all of this corrosion.
This damage can often be repaired but is quite costly. Avoiding this cost is as simple as sending your probe to us as soon as you notice the gap in the cases. Inspect your probes today.
